Hi all!
This is the last week of the America’s Giving Challenge on Facebook! They are giving away an additional $75,000 this week! I would love to see Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective get into the action!
1. Go Here: http://apps.facebook.com/causes/356465?m=3124eff7# if you have Facebook or www.causes.com (and search for Indigenous Pitch Dance Collecitve) if you don’t.
2. Donate what you can- it is the total number of donations we receive that determines the winner, not the total amount raised!
3. If you can, repeat steps 1& 2 daily throughout the week.
4. If you can’t, spread the word! The more people that get involved, the better chance we have of winning anywhere from $1500 to $25,000!
Saturday, October 24th, 3-4:30: Creative Dance for the Pre-Schooler (An Americans for the Arts Creative Conversation) with Elizabeth Luff and Lisa Welsh
Creative Dance for the Preschooler lecture/demonstration leads participants through specific movement activities demonstrating how educational concepts can be reinforced through dance. Discussions about how movement enhances learning readiness will inspire teachers and parents to use movement more effectively, and hands-on activities will make instructors more comfortable with dance concepts and activities.

But we have to get moving!
America’s Giving Challenge is in full swing. In just a few days, $200,000 has been raised for over 4,000 causes! But only $10 (!) has gone to Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective!
The contest is simple: the cause that gets the most people to give $10 or more wins. Causes can win daily awards of up to $1,000 for getting the most donations in a single day, and overall awards up to $50,000 for getting the most donations over the entire challenge, which ends November 6th.

Once you have picked a cause, there are two easy ways to help:
- Donate. Go to the cause you want to support and click on the green “Donate” button.
- Tell your friends. Go to the cause you want to support and click on the green “Tell Friends” button. But don’t stop there—make phone calls, put your cause’s URL in your away message, and find other creative ways to get your friends to donate.
The Challenge, which was organized by Causes, the Case Foundation, and PARADE Publications, was created to empower individuals to join together and make a difference for the issues and organizations they care about most. Your donation, when put together with so many other people’s donations, will make a huge difference for your cause and the people it affects. Go to www.causes.com to see who’s winning and get involved!
This Challenge is about YOU. It’s about you and your friends. It’s about the power that all of us have to build communities that impact the world.
This could be great for Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective, Inc.!
The Christie Cookie Co. is donating a total of $25,000 to charities. From now through October 15, you can nominate your favorite charity to win. The most nominated charity will receive a check for $10,000. The runner-up wins $5,000, and the next 10 will receive $1,000 each. It takes less than 2 minutes to vote.

Tell everyone to vote for IPDC !
So another day has gone by, without the supporters of Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective making themselves known! Today’s winner only had about 65 donations! We could totally do that! So, after 3PM today, get on Facebook (you know you are anyway!) and make a donation to IPDC. $10 is the minimum, and if we all gave $10 together, I think we could win!
Let’s fund our Winter Workshop in North Philly with money from the America’s Giving Challenge! Use this link: https://www.causes.com/fb/donations/new?m=103f46b4&cause_id=356465
Hey Supporters!
Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective is raising money for our Winter Philly Presh Workshop, and it is perfectly timed with America’s Giving Challenge. It doesn’t take much to get in the running- the contest is decided by total number of donations, not amounts. So give a little or give a lot, but tell everyone you know to give too!
To win, between now and November 7th we have to get the most donations to our cause on Facebook (every person can donate once per day and have it count as a unique donation). We can also win daily awards of $1,000 and $500 if we can get the most people to donate in any 24-hour period. The great thing about this Challenge is that it doesn’t matter how much you give, but instead how much you do to encourage friends and family to get involved in our cause. We all need to come together and start promoting the cause if we want to win.
Each of us has tons of friends on Facebook who we can ask to donate to our cause. But let’s think big too—can you put our cause in your email signature, can you throw a party and get people to donate through the cause when they enter, can you organize other people to go out and fundraise from all of their friends? As you reach out to your friends be sure to tell them why this cause matters to you. The possibilities are endless so let’s talk about what we can do to win on the Wall of the cause or by replying to this bulletin.
I think we can do it! But it’s going to take all of us. Check out the Giving Challenge ( www.causes.com?m=103f46b4 ), then visit our cause to see how we’re doing so far and get involved.
Let’s win $50,000 for our cause!
Now that it’s October, you can vote for us again. New votes only.

Our Spring Break Presh Workshop in North Philly, in conjunction with the ROCK Project and Girls High was a great success! And now it’s time to do it again!
We need to raise $2300 in the next month to be able to provide a Presh Workshop over Winter Break!
A Presh Workshop runs 10AM-3PM each day. This workshop will be 3 days long, because of how the holidays fall. Each day begins with a warm-up. Children are then divided into groups for techniques classes (Ballet, modern, jazz, tap, yoga, Afro-Modern, Hip-Hop). Then they are given a journalling prompt. These writing exercises promote literacy skills as well as personal expression.
There is a break for a healthy, nutritious lunch, provided by Indigenous Pitch. After lunch, children have their second techniques class of the day. This is followed by a visual art project.
The day ends with a group improv and choreography session. The movement material developed here becomes part of our culminating workshop performance. Children invite their families, friends and neighbors to join in their artistic achievements.
And you can join in too! Indigenous Pitch is accepting donations for this workshop. In order to offer this creative outlet, we must raise $2300 in the next month!
All donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
