OUR INTERNATIONAL ARTS CAMP IS COMING UP!

Indigenous Pitch Dance Collective will be taking their healing, transformational arts camps to Haiti in June/July 2011. The organization has been invited back by Universite Chretienne du Nord d’Haiti. The university, in Limbe, Haiti, requested the organization’s visit based on their work in New Orleans and Philadelphia. UCNH will host approximately 10 IPDC arts educators, a doctor, and an expected 100 children for a creative arts camp June 27th through July 1st, 2011.

Limbe is a refuge for many families displaced by the earthquake. These children will be invited to participate in the camp. Plans are also being made to transport and house children from Port au Prince for the camp. According to the organization’s founder, Lisa Welsh, “This camp is timed for a critical moment in Haiti’s year. The wet, rainy season will be underway in July, and those living in tent cities will experience even more devastation. Our camp gives those children an escape, even for just one week.”
